I am in a wonderful (or horrible) place right now – a reader’s heaven (or Hades) – surrounded by so many wonderful books I want to read RIGHT NOW that I have no idea where to start.
So I’m letting all of you decide what my first read in 2011 will be from the choices below.
Also, because I appreciate your thoughts and opinions, everyone who comments will have their name entered into a drawing for a really cool and useful-to-us-readers prize! If I get one vote/comment, lucky you- WINNER! If I get more than ten, I’ll draw two names. More than 20, I’ll draw three. :)
(Only one vote/comment per person counts. Hurry! Contest closes Wednesday at 12:00 noon MST.)
I made a bunch of these bookmarks (see mass of charms and elastic above) as Christmas gifts for my reader friends because they are so darn cute and handy. Just loop the elastic around the front or back half of the book with one side marking your place inside the book and that baby isn’t going anywhere. Shake the book, drop the book, shove the book in your bag- your place won’t be lost.
Pretty neat, huh?
So tell me, from the list below, what do YOU think I should read next?
- Cross My Heart by Julie Wright
- Courting Miss Lancaster by Sarah M. Eden
- Meg’s Melody by Kaylee Baldwin
- The Legend of Shannonderry by Carole Warburton
- Winning Mr. Wrong by Marie Higgins
There are several books I could add to this list but I thought I should keep it at five. Can you tell I’m in the mood for a romance?
Don’t forget to voice your choice in the comments!

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Most definitely Courting Miss Lancaster! Sarah sent me a copy this summer and I've already read it three times. Deliciously witty and intelligent, and a heart-strummer too. It's become one of my all time favourites.
I know that I can't enter the contest, but my vote for you is either:
-Cross My Heart or
-Courting Miss Lancaster.
Ooh, tough choices! Great books!
But, Courting Miss Lancaster has stuck with me since I first read it, and I rushed right out, despite the snowstorm, to buy The Kiss of a Stranger because I loved the CML so much.
But I'd have to say I also loved, loved, loved The Legend of Shannonderry as well, and I've recommended book books as a MUST READ pair to lots of people.
What??? The Sapphire Flute is not in there??? *shaking head* Oh, Shanda. How could you? ;)
Actually, I haven't read any of those, but I am a big Julie Wright fan, so that's the one I'd choose since The Sapphire Flute isn't in there.
(You can smack me next time you see me. hee hee hee)
Fun contest! I'm going to recommend the one I'm most familiar with… The Legend of Shannonderry. My sister just read it and loved it! Thanks for the list, now I have some books to add to my list. :) Hope you are doing well!!

Ohhh, I LOVED Courting Miss Lancaster! Where have you been? Not busy or anything. ;) I gave The Legend of Shannonderry to my daughter for Christmas, but I'll have to go with CML because it was one of my top three reads of 2010. Yay!
Kimberly- 3 times already! Very convincing. I think CML will take an early lead.
Sheila- Hey, thanks for voting anyway! Another one for CML, and I can't wait to get to Cross My Heart…
Lu Ann- Thanks! Wow, another one for Courting Miss Lancaster. Though The Legend of Shannoderry has so many things I like- horses, handsome Irishmen, romance, handsome Irishmen- oh, wait…
Hi Karen!! {hugs} Why wait til the next time I see you? :) Thanks for stopping by! Oh, and shame on me. Here's the deal- if I haven't read The Sapphire Flute by the next time you see me, YOU can smack ME. Agreed? Good.
LESLIE! Hi! So good to see you on the blog (or anywhere!) Another vote for Shannonderry. Starting to lean that way again. We are good. Crazy. Busy. But good. Thanks! I bet your girls are getting so big. I need to get Sheila to let me peek at her Facebook so I can see some pics!
Krista, Krista, Grand Prize Winna! Have you made your Amazon wish list yet? :) And back we swing toward Courting Miss Lancaster.
I can't wait to see what votes tomorrow brings! :)
Dang. They don't have "Courting Miss Lancaster" in ebook. *sigh*
The only one I've read is Winning Mr. Wrong and I thought it was excellent, so that's the one I'm recommending. And just in case you draw me, I like hearts. ;)
Cross my heart! IT sounds like such an amazing book.
Of the three of these I've read, I'd definitely say Courting Miss Lancaster. Super fun.
i haven't read any of them but after reading the comments i'm going to vote courting miss. lancaster and i'm going to go read it myself! yeah! i'm glad i have a good book to read!
thanks for the contest. hope i win! i would LOVE one of those cute book place holders. mine are always falling out! arg!
In lieu of doing the writer-turned-used-car-salesman thing, I'm going to say that my mom read Cross My Heart and absolutely adored it. And LuAnn Staheli recommended Legend of Shannonderry to me and, since I trust her judgment completely, it is at the top of my to-read pile. So, either of those two (right after you read CML).
I'm right there with everyone else–either CML or CMH, definitely!
(Courting Miss Lancaster is slightly shorter than Cross My Heart–so you can read it faster and then go on to the other. So there's my vote.)
The Legend of Shannonderry. I want to hear all about it.
Courtin Miss Lancaster seems to get the vote. I am going to have to go and get this and read it. I am in need of a good read. thanks
I would read Courting Miss Lancaster by Sarah M. Eden first. I was a great book.
If I had to pick one I would pick one that I don't think has even been voted on yet and that is Winning Mr Wrong by Marie Higgins. It sounds interesting and I would be very fascinated on why they would think whoever was Mr Wrong. It looks like a good read to start with. I haven't read any but that one stuck out the most to me because I would be interested to know what happens in the book.
Meg's Melody hands down!
Definitely Courting Miss Lancaster. So beautifully written, funny, and one you won't put down. :)

All the votes are in and I will announce the winners in another post in a few minutes.
Thanks everyone!
