3 days until summer!
Michele Ashman Bell grew up in St. George, Utah. In fourth grade her teacher wrote on her report card that she had a tendency to daydream and would probably do well with creative writing. Her love for books and learning about people and places has helped her make her teacher’s prediction come true. Michele is the author of many books and Christmas stories. She is married and is the mother of four children, and a grandma of one. Aside from supporting her children in all of their many activities, she loves to travel, do research for her books and eat chocolate.
The Perfect Fit is Michele’s 22nd published novel.

LDSWBR: If you had an entire day to read (on the beach, at the lake, by the pool, etc.), what book(s) or genre would you reach for first?
MICHELE: My favorite books to read are either biographies or books about women who face difficult situations and overcome them. Two of my favorite books are Not Without My Daughter and Follow the River.
LDSWBR: What book(s) do you look forward to reading the most this summer?
MICHELE: On my night stand I have the book The Hunger Games which I am hoping to find time to read as well as some “How To” books on how to write science fiction. I am writing a science fiction story and need to have a crash course in this genre.
LDSWBR: How would you describe the perfect summer day?
MICHELE: I am an early riser and love to be outside in the morning. I think the perfect day would start with going to an island somewhere in the Bahamas with my husband, waking up early, going out to the beach and sitting on lounge chairs together watching the sunrise, with creamy cups of cocoa. The day would be filled with snorkeling, taking a nap in the sun and exploring the island, then getting dressed up for a wonderful lobster dinner that evening, followed by a walk along the beach with soft island music playing in the background OR spending the entire day at Disneyland/California Adventure with my family.
LDSWBR: Thank you so much, Michele.
The Perfect Fit by Michele Ashman Bell (Covenant; May 2011) is available for purchase from Deseret Book, Seagull Book and Amazon.
Have you been snorkeling? If so, where?

Wow. Twenty-two published novels? That almost makes me tired, but way to go Michele.
I went snorkeling last along the Napali Coast of Kaua’i. My daughter lives there, and I got to spend 10 wonderful days with them. I decided after that experience that I know what I want to do when I retire. Got to work for a catamaran company so I can do that almost every dang day. It was also research for my WIP #1, which has a catamaran trip and snorkeling.
I seriously need to do more research …
I had to smile at Michele’s bio — my daughter’s 4th grade teacher has told me the same thing about her! It looks like Michele has worked really hard to succeed! Her new book sounds like a great one!
I have never been snorkeling — perhaps someday!
I am also a follower of Michele’s blog.
I just read some about this new book and it looks really good to me. I need to definitely read it this summer! I have been snorkeling one time and absolutely loved it! It was at Hanaumu Bay in Hawaii and it was so neat to see all of the colorful fish up close. I want to go again soon and take my husband with me.
i have been snorkling in my dreams lol somewhere tropical
I read one of Michele’s books last year and really enjoyed it. I’d love to pick up another one.
I’ve been snorkeling in the Bahamas. It was seriously cool! The beaches are beautiful white and the water is just this bright bright blue. They took us out to a great place and the fish were this beautiful vibrant colors.
I’m sort of claustrophobic, so no. Haven’t been snorkeling. I think I would inhale water on accident and freak out! It does sound cool though. I’ll try it someday. Maybe. :)
This book looks so cute! :)
I have never been snorkeling, but Michele’s ideas of a perfect summer day sound wonderful!!
