Julie Daines was born in Concord, Massachusetts, and raised in Utah. She spent eighteen months living in London, where she studied and fell in love with English literature, sticky toffee pudding, and the mysterious guy who ran the kebab store around the corner.
She loves reading, writing, and watching movies—anything that transports her to another world. She picks Captain Wentworth over Mr. Darcy, firmly believes in second breakfast, and never leaves home without her vervain.

LDSWBR: What book or movie reminds you of summer?
JULIE: We go to a cabin in Montana every summer, just outside of Yellowstone National Park. One summer I read a book called Death in Yellowstone. It told about all the deaths that have occurred inside the boundaries of the park. Bear attacks, eating poisonous plants, killed by natives, falling into geysers, western shoot-outs—it was all there. I’ll never forget it. I was fascinated and horrified at the same time.
LDSWBR: Do you hike during the summer? If so, where is your favorite place to hike?
JULIE: We only hike a little during the summer because it’s too hot. We hike to Cascade Falls at Lake Tahoe nearly every year in July.
LDSWBR: What is the best book you’ve read so far this year?
JULIE: In February, I reread all of Sarah M. Eden’s Regency Romance novels in chronological order. I had so much fun immersing myself in the time period and seeing how all the stories overlap and the characters interplay on each other. Loved it!

I don’t visit Yellowstone in the summer, no. But I love the sounds of this book. An era piece with a little fantasy!

I actually didnt usually visit Yellowstone in the summer which is ironic because I grew up in Jackson Hole, WY!
I have visited Yellowstone in the summer, but not every summer. It’s also really nice in the winter!
I’ve been to Yellowstone twice — once in the winter and once in the summer. A beautiful place both times! I need to go again and take my kids.
I’ve only been to Yellowstone once, although it was during the summer. I hope to be able to visit there in the future. :)
I don’t get to visit Yellowstone every year, but the couple of times that we have gone there for a summer vacation, I have loved it. Such a beautiful and unique place!

We used to go to Yellowstone as a family when I was a girl, but we’ve never taken our own children. Terrible! We’ll have to correct that. This book sounds fascinating!
I feel like my family went about every year when I was a little boy. Haven’t been back since then. I still remember the sulfury smell of the hotpots, though.
It’s been a few years since we’ve been to Yellowstone in the summer. We loved it, especially the traffic jam caused by the herd of bison slowly crossing the road. My favorite time through Yellowstone though, was when we went through it in the winter on snowmobiles.
I used to visit Yellowstone quite a bit when I was in college and lived closer. Now, with young kids I can’t go because it takes hours to just drive around the park and they would be so restless. I am dreaming of when they are older, because I love National Parks and hiking and I have not been for many years!
