The daughter of an English teacher, Nancy Anderson was raised to appreciate the importance and beauty of words. Books were her best friends and the library one of her favorite places to be. As a mother of five and a stay at home mom, Nancy participated in her children’s education as a volunteer by teaching motion through music at a kindergarten level, Great Books to upper elementary grades, and designing and building historical costumes for the music program at her local high school for 10 years.
Nancy and her husband Jim raised their family in Utah. They currently reside in Sandy, where Nancy spends her time in her gardening, painting with watercolors, and working on manuscripts when she is not involved in her favorite activity, spending time with her 11 grandchildren.
Carroll Hofeling Morris grew up in a storytelling family. She wrote her first short story in fifth grade—it was published in “The Puppy Dog’s Tale,” the newspaper for the grade school in her home town of Lovell, Wyoming. She is a graduate of BYU with a major in German and the University of Oklahoma with a MA in German. She and her husband, Gary, lived in a suburb of Minneapolis for thirty-three years before moving to the retirement community of Green Valley, Arizona. They lived in Germany two years (82-83, 88-89) when Gary was a Fulbright Exchange Teacher. They are the parents of four children.
Carroll wrote her debut novel, The Broken Covenant, during the first teacher exchange. After writing several more novels and a non-fiction book (all published by Deseret Book), Carroll turned to copywriting to help put her children through college. Now back at doing what she loves most, Carroll has written a series, The Company of Good Women, with her sister, Nancy Anderson and her “almost sister,” Lael Littke. “It’s about about three women who want to grow into being Crusty Old Broads (COBS) written by three women who are Crusty Old Broads”
She collaborated with her sister on her most recent novel,
Leaning into the Curves, a humorous and poignant look at how retirement can affect a marriage. As far as trips go, my sister, Nancy, and I will be driving to Boise the end of June to participate in the Temple Riders’ rally! (That group figured prominently in our novel,
Leaning into the Curves.) We’re looking forward to the camaraderie, motorcycle rides, great entertainment, and the temple/community service day.In July, Gary and I will be back in that part of Idaho for a wedding, family reunions, and the 50th reunion of the Jerome High School class of 1960. Right after we get home, I’ll be participating in the ANWA writer’s retreat Clay Springs, AZ. After that, we’ll be enjoying the monsoon season–hopefully it brings a lot of rain this year.

My favorite is Macaroni salad. I don't have recipe for it. You just have to through all the right ingredients together and have elbow pasta and it is wonderful.
I went to 'Mama Mia' when it came to SLC. Also been to Tuachan (sp??) in St. George.
Love pasta and potato salads in the summer! Can't wait to eat them.
I've been to the Tuachan, but not a festival… My favorite potato salad is my moms recipe. YUM!!
I enjoy going to musical theater and appreciate the smaller productions that are so close by living in Utah. I do miss seeing the big Broadway productions, they are so amazing and dramatic.
My husband & daughter like performing in Theatre. My teen daughter is now in the Play "Annie", at the Emprees Theatre in Magna.
