24 days until Christmas!
Laurie (LC) Lewis is the author of six books, four of which are part of her “Free Men and Dreamers” series. The fifth book in the series is due to be released in March. Laurie has an obvious appreciation for the early years of US history.
You can visit with Laurie on her website: Laurie (L.C.) Lewis, her blog: A View From the Other Side of the Hill, on Facebook and on Twitter @laurielclewis.
Watch the “Free Men and Dreamers” trailer here.
LDSWBR: What author/book had the most impact on you this year?
LAURIE: Probably Heather B. Moore’s Women of the Book of Mormon. She elevated my consideration, respect and awe of these women. I try to look between the lines more as I read the scriptures, to see the characters as real people–mothers and fathers–who sacrificed, suffered, rejoiced, played, and loved.
LDSWBR: What books are you giving/asking for this Christmas?
LAURIE: Braden Bell’s The Road Show is one I think every leader and teacher should read. I also love Anne Bradshaw’s True Miracles With Genealogy, and Heather B. Moore’s book are on my gift-giving list.
LDSWBR: If you could only participate in one Holiday activity or tradition this year, what would it be?
LAURIE: I want to Secret Santa some folks this year.
LDSWBR: Eggnog or warm apple cider?
LAURIE: Hmmm… I think I’ll go for the cider. Something about that warmth that sounds cozy. In fact, I have mulling spices and cider ready to go right now! Great minds think alike!
LDSWBR: Thank you, Laurie. Enjoy your mulled cider!
Oh, Say Can You See? by L.C. Lewis (Brigham Distributing; Nov 2010) is available for purchase at Deseret Book, Seagull Book, Amazon and wherever LDS books are sold.
Have you read any of the “Free Men and Dreamers” series? Have you ever been involved in a Secret Santa event? If so, how was the experience?

Thanks for the interview, ladies! Wish I could share some cider with you! Merry Christmas!
Yay! I'm so excited you are doing this contest again! So fun!! :D I've never read these books, but they look good. :)
I love doing Secret Santa. Giving is the best part of Christmas.
I bought presents for kids on the Bishop's Christmas tree and was very excited, until we got some of them back. I guess we were on the list! I also love doing random cookie/cake drops!
Secret Santa is so much fun abd gratifying. It gives you such a good feeling to do for those who would not have Christmas otherwise.
I like doing Secret Santa, and was excited last year when the person wanted a church book. I try to do it every year.
