27 days until Christmas
About Jolene: I taught middle school math with my degree in Political Science and French. I now write. I’m a chaser/mother of two children, player of the guitar, sewer of clothes, and I’m one of those crazy people who lives in Alaska for fun. YA author of The Next Door Boys, and more coming soon. :D

LDSWBR: What Christmas-related activity would you like to do this year that you have never done before?
JOLENE: I have always wanted to spend Christmas on a beach – especially this year, which has been a WAY cold and windy winter so far.
LDSWBR: If you could find one book under the tree this year, what would it be?
JOLENE: ONE?? Is that a trick question? Oh. Wait. I’d want John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars, because right now, I have to wait until it actually comes OUT in January :D
LDSWBR: What is your favorite childhood Christmas memory?
JOLENE: We used to cut down our own tree every year. We’d ride our snowmachines across the lake in front of my house and drive up the trail until we saw something suitable. Alaska doesn’t have those nice, thick, pine trees, so our tree was always a bit of a “charlie brown” tree. My dad would drill small holes and take branches from lower (that were cut off so the tree could fit into our house) and place them throughout the tree to fill it out. WAY fun.
LDSWBR: Thank you, Jolene!

I can’t wait to read this book — it sounds fabulous!
I have never spent Christmas on the beach and honestly, the idea doesn’t really appeal to me — you just can’t replace snow with sand for Christmas! (Maybe for the rest of winter, however…) :-)
I do all 3 of the extra entries — subscribe to LDSWBR through e-mail, follow on Twitter and like the Facebook page.
I have never spent Christmas on a beach, but if I did, it would probably not be on a particularly warm beach. I would love to spend Christmas on Canon Beach, because it was so crowded when we went that we weren’t even able to to out to the rock and the beach, but I’m not bitter!

This book sounds really good. I hope I win!! =) I would choose a beach in Hawaii for Christmas. That would be amazing! I also just added you as a friend on twitter @cleanteenfic and liked your facebook page.
I grew up not too far from the beach in California, but it was usually too cold to spend Christmas there. I would want to go to a warm beach, possibly one in Hawaii! I always love your countdown to Christmas Contest, how long have you been doing it now?
Also, I now follow you on Facebook and subscribed to your e-mails.
I’ve never spent Christmas on a beach, but would love too!! It would probably be Hawaii, as I’ve never been there. Yeah, I’m not a big fan of snow and cold.
I follow you by e-mail and on Facebook.
We spent one Christmas in San Diego when I was little. It was actually very fun. And warm. :) I’d love to visit Hawaii someday. Not necessarily at Christmas. ANYTIME! :) And I LOVE Jolene. Love her.
I grew up in CA but it was usually too cold for us to spend Christmas on the beach. However last year we went down in Dec and it was warm to us coming from utah and it was deserted! I dont know though, I’d rather be by a fire with snow I can see outside my window. :)

I’ve never spent Christmas at the beach but I would enjoy visiting Cape May, NJ at Christmas time. It is a charming Victorian town. I’ve been there in the summer and fall, but never at Christmastime.

I have never spent Christmas at the beach………..I like the snow too much at Christmas time to do that. However, I would consider visiting the beach for Valentine’s Day. By then I’m getting tired of the snow……………LOL! I think Hawaii would be nice!!
My favorite Christmas tradition since I’ve been married is going to the mountains and picking out a Christmas tree………….so fun to do as a family!!!
