Shannen Crane Camp was born and raised in Southern California where she developed a love of reading and writing, completing her first (very) short story in the fifth grade. She continued to write throughout junior high and high school before finally deciding that enough was enough; it was time to be an author. She moved to Provo, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University where she attained a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and a very well received proposal from her fellow California resident Josh Camp. The two are now happily married and living in Provo.

LDSWBR: What Christmas-related activity would you like to do this year that you have never done before?

SHANNEN: I’d LOVE to get Christmas pajamas on Christmas eve to wear to bed that night. So many people do that and I just think it’s the cutest thing! Plus it’s an excuse to open a present early to hopefully tide you over until Christmas day :)

LDSWBR: If you could find one book under the tree this year, what would it be?

SHANNEN: “Beautiful Days” by Anna Godbersen. Unfortunately it’s still only in hardback and I want it to match my paperbacks so unless there’s a Christmas miracle it’s not going to happen.

LDSWBR: What is your favorite childhood Christmas memory?

SHANNEN: Driving home from my grandma’s house on Christmas Eve and my brother and I saying we could see Santa flying through the sky any time we saw an airplane.

LDSWBR: Thank you so much, Shannen. Now go buy some PJs to unwrap on Christmas Eve. :)

  1. Hopefully your husband reads this post Shannen so he can surprise you with some pjs on Christmas Eve! My Meme (grandma) gave my cousins and me matching pjs for a few years in a row on Christmas. We were all so cute and matching and little.

  2. I only remember getting pajamas once or twice for Christmas. I remember the one specific year, my grandma had made matching pajamas for us (and for my doll).

I follow LDSWBR on facebook and get e-mails.

  3. We never did the Christmas pajamas, but I know lots of people who do. I’ve never been on the ball enough to do it with my own kids either!
Shannen’s book sounds great — can’t wait to read it!

  4. My parents did this for a few years when a was a kid, but it didn’t continue for very long. We were expected to wear these new p.j.’s for the Christmas morning activities.
This book looks like a fun read!

  5. I love hearing Christmas memories.I always get good ideas!! Growing up we never did pjs for Chrstmas but I do it with my kids now. We also do 24 books under the tree each night. Shannen’s book looks like a good read.

  6. We had a pj tradition growing up and I remember a year or two after I got married and we went back to my moms house and I didnt get any I was so sad. So she still does it for us grown ups if we go that year and I totally do it now because I love it! :)

  9. I don’t remember a pj tradition growing up, but we all get new pj’s on Christmas Eve and wear them to my in-laws for the big family Christmas bash.

  10. E-mail and Facebook follower.

  11. We used to always get a new pair of pj’s on Christmas eve though now that we are all older we just get in the most comfortable pj’s we can find and chill out. Though this year my mom and sisters and I all got adult sized, matching footsie pajamas so i’m thinking that this year those will be out Christmas eve pj’s of choice. Your book looks great! Thank you for taking thtime to write it and share it with us.

  12. PJ’s for Christmas eve sound like a fun thing to do!!! I like your Christmas memory fo going home from your Grandmas and saying you saw Santa when you saw an airplane!! That is fun! Your book looks so good!!
